To The Park

Category: Uncategorized Comments: No comments

Wyatt went to the park yesterday where his daddies let him play and tried to snap pictures of his adorable face, dance moves, and soccer skills. Here are some beautiful moments captured in time. We continue to feel so blessed to have this litle guy in our family.

Day Two

Category: Uncategorized Comments: No comments

It's 10:15 a.m. and Wyatt just went down for his morning nap.  We were up at 7:15, had breakfast and took a walk over to Publix for a few items along with quarters to wash clothes.  He was easy to put down for his nap today. We brushed our teeth and cuddled on the bed as he pulled the covers over him and quickly closed his eyes.  Last night at bedtime he was restless and fought going to bed.  He did let us put him down in his bed while he was still awake a little.  But when we'd check on him he was tossing around still. He went through the night like a little angel and woke up well rested.

We're having ground turkey tonight with brown rice, black beans, apple sauce and banana.  Brian is likely traveling to New Orleans this week for a couple days, we'll make that decision on Monday night after a couple more days are under our belts.  We also want to make a trip to the beach before heading back to CA.

Here's a picture from yesterday. We went summer shopping at the local mall. nom nom nom!

Big Morning

Category: Uncategorized Comments: No comments

We all slept in until 7:00 a.m. this morning, had some family brushing their teeth time, breakfast consisting of oatmeal, fruit and sausage, then a little playtime in the room, followed by a walk to the grocery store.  We've had a couple of diaper changes already and he went down for a nap at 11:00 a.m.

Adoption Day

Category: Uncategorized Comments: No comments

Today was our first day as parents. It has been and will be a great experience. We've trudged the road through lots of decisions that eventually got us here, through lots of paperwork, our home study, parenting classes, emotional support to our new family and eventually to the day we introduced Wyatt Austin Grover-Hadaway into our loving family. He's a perfect little boy.

Our little piece of heaven was tucked in to bed with a slight struggle. But by 9:01, we were able to lay him down in his own bed. We have had many blessings and will have him in our prayers tonight.

Sleep tight little angel.

Hopes and Dreams

Category: Uncategorized Comments: No comments

We felt very blessed as the alarm clocks went off at 3:00 am pacific this morning and our new life journey began. We're en route on a plane to Orlando as this is written. We received an email just over a week ago from our adoption facilitator indicating there was a birth mom looking for a family. It was certainly not the email we would have expected, one that shared the need for an immediate placement of a lovely 17 month old little boy, with a sibling to be born this next November. As we've learned, this little fella is named Wyatt Austin Santiago, and if all goes as planned, will become Wyatt Austin Grover-Hadaway in just a few days.

We're so excited and yet so nervous. No doubt the next few days will be especially emotional as we lend our love and support to our new extended family. Our hearts will be overwhelmed for many reasons, the love for a little one that will come into our home, and for the sadness a mother and father will share as they have a loss that cannot be explained. We've not experienced such a loss but will pray that hearts will heal quickly and have brighter days ahead.
